The Manners Arms, formerly The Red House and originally a Hunting Lodge built for the 6th duke, has been thoughtfully restored to make a superior Restaurant with Rooms in the shadow of Belvoir Castle.

The ten bedrooms are all individually and comfortably furnished. The largest ones are on the top floor and there are two good singles. The AA rosette restaurant is a destination in its own right and attracts diners from a wide radius. Emphasis is on locally sourced modern British food. Starters include fresh crab or homemade terrines. Main courses might be heart of rump or fresh fish specials.

There is a good wine list or four kinds of real ale to choose from in the bar, including one brewed in the Vale of Belvoir. Lighter bar menus are also available Monday to Saturday at lunch or supper time. These and breakfast can be enjoyed in the conservatory or in fine weather on the terrace.

This area is also licensed for civil wedding ceremonies and civil partnerships and can seat up to 50 guests. As well as Belvoir Castle, local attractions include Belton House, Denton Manor, and further afield, Burghley House and Rutland Water.

Pets welcome £10 fee.
