The Black Swan at Helmsley is a historic inn, turned boutique hotel. Its varied exterior, with its black & white timbered, Elizabethan and Georgian elements, portrays a rich history dating back to the C15th. Right in the heart of one of the North Yorks Moors’ prettiest villages, the hotel is smartly appointed, blending antiques with classic contemporary design.
Yorkshire is renowned as being a county which produces some of the finest foods in the UK and nowhere is this recognised more than at Helmsley’s Black Swan Hotel. The acclaimed 2 AA rosette Rutland Restaurant, which was recently refurbished, offers three distinct menus for dinner, all of which use ingredients sourced from within 30 miles of the hotel wherever possible and change regularly to utilise the best seasonal produce.
Step outside into the marketplace, and you will find a charming selection of individual boutiques selling gifts, crafts, artwork, country wear and fine foods, including local meats, cheese and liquors.
You are welcome to bring your pet to the hotel, for a fee of £10.

17/10/2009 (2 night stay): Dinner and breakfast excellent. Nice ambience and friendly staff. Some of the public areas were a little careworn, the rooms are comfy rather than palatial but the food is really exceptional.

18/02/2009 (2 night stay): Great stay, everything taken care of for us. We requested interconnecting rooms so that we could chat and be all together and this was taken care of.
