ABOUT THE PEAR TREE AT PURTON

Originally the Saxon village vicarage, this Cotswold stone hotel is set in seven acres on the outskirts of Purton village between the Cotswolds and the Marlborough Downs. Guests will appreciate that it is dedication to good service that has made this such a successful hotel. Rooms are a mixture of individually decorated en suite rooms and suites, many with spa baths and one with a four-poster. All are furnished to a high standard and offer a host of luxury amenities. Each is named after a character associated with the village. Dining is in the spacious AA  Conservatory Restaurant overlooking the gardens. Head chef Alan Postill’s forte is modern English cuisine using the freshest local ingredients, including herbs from the hotel’s own garden. Stylish function rooms make the Pear Tree a venue suitable for any occasion, with professional service and fine food.

02/09/2010 (1 night stay): The Pear Tree at Purton is a truly delightful historic, former Saxon Rectory based just outside the village of Purton. Under the ownership and professional management of fine hoteliers, Anne and Francis Young, this hotel is a must to visit. The 7 acres of grounds are idyllic for an evening stroll. Appreciate the newly cultivated vineyard, natural wild flower meadow, water gardens and wild life, of this natural setting. Attractive decor graces all rooms and suites. Dining in the AA** Conservatory Restaurant is a culinary delight. Fresh local produce and herbs from the garden fuse into delicious flavour combinations with presentation and service, first class. The Pear Tree at Purton is an ideal base for touring Wiltshire and the Cotswolds area, or simply relaxing and enjoying all that this fine establishment has to offer.
