Karslake House is very much in the heart of Exmoor. Originally a 15th century malthouse and later the country residence of the eminent Victorian Attorney General Sir John Karslake.
Homely and inviting, the atmosphere is welcoming yet unfussy. There are six attractive bedrooms with views across the pretty village, the well tended garden or onto the wooded hillsides of the river valley. Adjoining the hotel is the Cottage, which is immaculately restored and has two double bedrooms and can be rented on a self catering basis. Walking, fishing, shooting, riding, painting or simply relaxing, the possibilities are endless and all can be arranged for guests by owners Nick and Juliette.
Breakfast, afternoon tea and home made biscuits and the delicious evening meals are all prepared by AA rosette holder Juliette. After a day exploring this very special area, how better to unwind than to enjoy a three course meal followed by coffee in the sitting room in front of the wood burning stove.
Pets are welcome, for a fee of £10 per stay.
