With the exception of the war years, the Minack has put on a full programme every year. Rowena herself died in 1983, still taking a day-today interest in the theatre and drawing up plans for a cover in case of inclement weather (not yet come to fruition!) when she was nearly ninety.
Today the theatre is owned by a Trust who have built a visitor centre and enlarged the retailing operation. The Tempest and Midsummer Night's Dream remain in popular repertory; also Gilbert & Sullivan with the Pirates of Penzance, unsurprisingly, being the favourite. Plays and musicals are also staged and the season ends with a Last Night of the Proms. The season at this Cornwall attraction runs May 21st-September 23rd.
