Kate and Rob John, after 20 years' experience in the restaurant and catering trade, set up Rhiwafallen last year. It combines the features of a traditional Welsh farmhouse with contemporary design, bringing together natural materials and modern fixtures and fittings. Oak flooring and furniture meld with rich fabrics and original artwork on the walls. All five bedrooms have King-size beds with finest goose feather duvets and Egyptian cotton bed linen, together with flat screen TV and DVD players, bathrobes and slippers. One has a free standing bath in the eaves and one a roof deck with views across the open countryside to the sea. Rob is in charge of the cuisine. Don't miss the breakfast sausages, 'officially' the best in Wales. Local fruit and vegetables are used in season, supplemented by quality exotics from around the world. Caernarfon Castle World Heritage Site is nearby and the beauties of Snowdonia only a short drive away.
