The Groes Inn

There has been an inn in this spot since 1573 when The Groes was on the main coach route between London and Holyhead/Ireland. The Groes Inn is a true family-run hostelry, whose décor reflects the personality of the hosts: from stone cats lounging in the fireplace to the inn’s collection of Victorian hats and shields. Bedrooms are smartly decorated, each one differently; some have four-posters, other dormer windows. All have magnificent views, either of the foothills of Snowdonia or of the Conwy valley. There is a private suite – The Gallery – for that special celebration. The Groes Inn is the perfect spot for a short Welsh Break and is ideally placed for visiting Conwy Castle, Bodnant Gardens and Snowdonia. Recently the High Cabin, self-catering seclusion in the hills with a hot tub and No 14, a luxury cottage in the heart of Conwy town, have been added to the accommodation.

Pets are welcome, there is a fee of £10 per night.

21/07/2009 (1 night stay): The hotel was adorable, services were great and the food was wonderful. Staff was friendly and eager to help. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly and will recommend it for any travellers.
