Egerton Grey is a small but very private Country House Hotel nestling in its own secluded valley with views down to the sea. It has seven acres of lush garden, including a croquet lawn. In the 19th century it was a rectory and it still has the aura of a private house with a grand piano, library and intimate paneled dining room (formerly a billiard room). Bedrooms are furnished with antiques; one with a four-poster and many with Edwardian bathtubs. The award winning restaurant serves excellent country house dishes. There is a nice walk down to the Porthkerry Country Park and the Beach. The hotel is well positioned for Cardiff Airport and City and the Glamorgan Heritage Coast.
