This striking Gothic house is a rare survival of the work of William Burges with ornate woodwork patterns as well as Henry Moore sculptures in several rooms. It was the home of the Heathcote Amory family for nearly 100 years. It presents one of the finest gardens in Devon, with vistas over Tiverton, giant magnolia, azalea and rhododendrons in its woodland terraces. There is something of interest in every season, including an amusing topiary of hounds in hot pursuit of their prey.
