Howletts Zoo Park, Canterbury
Howletts and Port Lympne Wild Animal Parks were founded by the late John Aspinall with the aim of protecting and breeding rare and endangered species and returning them to safe areas in their native homelands. World leaders in heritage conservation, the two Parks have so far returned to the wild Przewalski’s horses, black rhino, Cape buffalo, ocelots, pythons and gorillas. Highlights to visit are the Black Rhino Breeding Sanctuary, the African elephants and ‘Walking with Lemurs’.
