An early example of an English landscape garden Claremont was begun by Vanburgh and Bridgeman in the early 18th century. It was then extended by William Kent. Capability Brown also carried out modifications. Features include a lake, an island with a pavilion, a grotto, a turf amphitheatre and numerous vistas.

Open 1 Apr-31 Oct daily 10-6; 1 Nov-31 March daily exc Mons 10-5. Admission adult £6/child £3/family (2+2) £15.
