Botanic Gardens
The Botanic Gardens, by Magdalen Bridge, are Britain’s oldest and were founded by Henry Danvers, Earl of Danby, in 1621. The gardens are divided into three sections: the glasshouses, the Walled Garden and the Water and Rock Gardens with their innovative Black Border and Autumn Border. The Garden is a National Reference Collection of over 7000 plants, making it the most diverse collection in the world.
