Arundel Castle
Completed after the Norman Conquest, Arundel Castle has over 1000 years of history. Ancestral home of the Dukes of Norfolk, its state rooms are full of period furniture and paintings by Reynolds, Gainsborough and Van Dyck, among others.
Particularly worthy of interest is the Baron’s Hall, the Armoury and the mahogany Gothic Library. Outside there is a Toy Museum, 19th century cathedral and 14th century Parish Church. Special events including jousting, concerts and medieval pageantry take place throughout the season.
Open 4 Apr-1 Nov Tues-Sun. Admission (‘platinum pass’) adult £15/child £7.50/concessions £12.50.
