The home of the Cavendish family, now the Duke & Duchess of Devonshire, since 1550, Chatsworth is one of the UK’s grandest country houses, renowned equally for its interiors as its landscaped gardens and impressive 290ft jet Emperor Fountain and 500yd cascade, modelled on the Winter Palace at St Petersburg.
