The remains of a 17th century castle, built on the site of a Norman fortress, rise above the surrounding countryside. Don’t miss the Little Castle with intricate carvings, panelling and wall paintings including the remaining copies of Titian’s Caesar Paintings. There is also a 17th century Riding School, built by the Duke of Newcastle and still in use today, and a Visitor and Discovery Centre.

Open 1 Apr-30 June and 1 Sept-1 Nov daily 10-5 (4 Fri & Sat); 1 July –31 Aug 10-6 (4 Fri/Sats); 2 Nov-31 Mar daily 10-4. Admission adult £7.30/child £3.70/Concessions £6.20/family £17.50.
