Ashridge Estate
The Ashridge Estate straddles the Herts/Bucks border and commands fine panoramas from the Ivinghoe Beacon and Duke of Bridgewater Monument. There are footpaths and bridleways to explore, including easy access trails and a rich variety of wildlife to spot, including red kite and fallow deer. The Woodlands offer carpets of bluebells in spring and fine autumn displays. There are historical remains from the Iron Age up to Victorian times. Visitor Centre with Discovery Room.
Visitor centre & shop open daily 14 Mar-20 Dec 10-5; Monument open 14 Mar-1 Nov Sat/Sun/BHs 12-4.30pm. Admisison to monument £1.60 adult/80p child.
