Isle of Skye,
Viewfield House has been the home of the Macdonald family for over 200 years, and is now run by daughter and father team Iona and Hugh. Iona is the third generation in charge since Viewfield first opened its doors to guests in 1954.
The house is full of character and charm, with a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, and has retained many of its Victorian features. It stands in extensive wooded grounds on the outskirts of Portree, overlooking Portree Bay and within easy walking distance of the town centre.
There is plenty to do on Skye: boat trips, fishing, sailing, walking in the Cuillin hills, pony trekking and golf. Visit the otter haven at Kylerhea or visit Dunvegan Castle, home to the MacLeod clan since time immemorial. After an invigorating day exploring, Iona and Hugh can offer dinner, by prior arrangement, or can recommend several eateries in and around Portree.
There are 11 bedrooms in total, 10 en-suite and all are tastefully decorated, each in their own style, with several overlooking the bay.
Activities nearby include sailing, squash, shooting, indoor pool all within 1 mile; fishing 2 miles, riding 3 miles, golf 9 miles.
There is one disabled room available.
