Hintlesham Hall is one of the loveliest hotels in England. The estate is entered along an impressive tree-lined drive, at the end of which the pale apricot coloured Grade I country house hotel reveals itself. It is set in beautifully maintained, peaceful and mature gardens. Parts of the house date back to the middle of the 15th Century. Decor combines the palatial and the cosy with fine fabrics, works of art and antique furnishings throughout. The Hall has 32 individually designed and luxuriously appointed bedrooms including some with four poster beds and many with original timber beams. The Principal Suite, built ca. 1690, has a Carolean undercut plaster ceiling 'among the best of late 17th Century anywhere in East Anglia' (Pevsner). Guests can relax in the friendly ambience of this superb country house hotel with attentive, friendly staff, award winning fine dining, complimentary WIFI, helipad, meeting and conference rooms and an extensive range of beauty treatments. Sharing the estate is the championship PGA golf course - 18 hole, par 72 layout with preferred green fees for residents and specially tailored breaks.
Hintlesham Hall is well placed for exploring Suffolk's delightfully unspoilt 16th century wool merchants' villages, its pretty river estuaries and 'Constable Country'. Newmarket Aldeburgh, Lavenham, Long Melford and Woodbridge are all nearby, with Ipswich's vibrant new waterfront area just four miles away. Hintlesham Hall also offers a variety of local walks or is the perfect retreat for those who just want to relax in gracious surroundings.
