The Lime Tree is a very refreshing townhouse near the centre of Fort William. The older part of the building was built by the Church of Scotland in 1850 and has high corniced ceilings, while the new rooms are more rustic with oak and cedar woodwork. The eponymous Lime Tree is 310 years old, the same age as the town itself. The stylish bedrooms have high quality images of Highland landscapes on the walls, some of which are for sale downstairs. Most have views over Loch Linnhe to the mountains of Lochaber beyond. The hotel caters for Ben Nevis climbers and Munro baggers with a guest laundry, drying room, map room and bike storage space. An Ealdhain mean a 'Place for Creativity' and there is a permanent Exhibition Room at the hotel. This runs art and craft exhibitions throughout the year. The Gallery can also be used for private dinners. The award winning restaurant makes full use of local produce where possible - starter might be Loch Linnhe mussels, followed by roast fillet of Great Glen Venison or Scotch Salmon, rounded off by an original dessert like Tablet, Irn Brue and Cranachan ice cream. The menu changes daily.
There is a £5.00 per night charge for dogs
