Portsonachan Hotel

Portsonachan Hotel is situated on the southern shore of Loch Awe.  The loch has fish to suit most anglers including salmon, trout and pike.  A brown trout was caught in 2000 weighing nearly 15 kgs.  Fishing permits can be supplied by the hotel.  The range of bedrooms includes Lochside Suites with wonderful views of Ben Cruchan, also called the Hollow Mountain, due to its hydro electric dam.  There are also self-catering Lodges, some with sauna and built in barbecue. The Cruchan Restaurant offers modern Scottish cuisine to suit every taste.  The bar is well stocked with malt and blended whisky.  The lounge is a comfortable area where guests can browse through the library, play board games, or just relax in front of the fire.  The hotel has moorings, can arrange mountain bike hire and recommend both flat and hill walks and local golf courses.
