Flodigarry sits at the northeast corner of Skye in splendid isolation, with the Quiraig Hills as backdrop and views over Staffin Bay in the foreground. It is exceptionally situated for those who wish to spot golden eagles, w
hales and basking sharks, otters and seals. Hotel guided walks and wildlife expeditions are highly recommended.
There are 11 bedrooms in the main house and a further 7 in Flora Macdonald’s Cottage, in the grounds. These are cosy with in character low ceilings and some with direct garden access. Flora lived here after she assisted Bonnie Prince Charlie ‘over the sea to Skye’ and ultimately to escape to France.
Cuisine makes best use of local seafood and game and both restaurant and bistro, with views over the bay, are popular places to savour it. Your hosts Robbie and Mags will make you feel especially welcome in this breathtaking spot. Best Hotel in Scotland Finalist 2007.
