In a delightful setting on the banks of Loch Fyne, Allt-Na-Craig sits at the top of the Mull of Kintyre amidst some of the most remarkable scenery of Argyll, with fabulous views towards the Cowal peninsula and the Isle of Arran. It is within easy reach of Inveraray, ancestral seat of the Dukes of Argyll and Oban, gateway to the Western Isles. Nearby, the Auchindrain Township, open from April until September, offers an insight into the rigours of west Highland life centuries ago.
This elegant Victorian house was the childhood home of Kenneth Grahame, of Wind in the Willows fame. Charlotte is the chef, producing delicious dinners on her trusty Aga and both she and Hamish will welcome you warmly to their small, very comfortable hotel. With five bedrooms in the main house, guests are assured of personal service at all times. In addition there is the self-catering coach house behind the hotel, sleeping six. Décor is traditional with a twist, bold colours in the bedrooms complimenting the tartan used in many of the curtains. The hotel’s local reputation for good food makes it a popular choice for locals and guests alike. Ingredients are sourced locally with supplies of game and fish readily accessible nearby.
