La Fleur de Lys is near the picture postcard Gold Hill, steep and cobbled, in Shaftesbury (Thomas Hardys’s
Shaston). It is a Restaurant with Rooms run with personal care by the team of David, Mary and Marc. All three met at Lewtrenchard Manor in Devon. They moved to Shaftesbury in 1991 and opened at first a Restaurant, then in 2003 bought the former Sunridge Hotel, which had been a Girls’ Boarding House. Many awards later, the rest is history…..
