Victoria & Albert Museum
Seven miles of galleries form the world’s largest decorative arts museum. There are 3000 years worth of amazing artefacts from many of the world’s richest cultures including ceramics, furniture, fashion, glass, jewellery, metalwork, photographs, sculpture, textiles and paintings. Everything from dress collections to Byzantine art, Chinese thrones and Samurai swords are on display. The V& A’s sister Museum of Childhood is based at Bethnal Green, NE London. A new Theatre Collection is due to open nearby in South Kensington in 2009.
