The tranquil village of St Margaret’s-at-Cliffe sits proudly on high ground a short ten minutes up from the port of Dover and 90 minutes down from London.  The bright, attractive weather boarded front of the hotel gives only the smallest clue of how a clever design team has brought new vitality to this village inn.  Parts of the building are 400 years old but the Elizabethan heritage has been carefully combined with modern comforts.  Of the 15 bedrooms six in the main inn are contemporarily styled and include two four-posters.  The quaint mews, overlooking the walled rose garden, features a further nine rooms, of which two are family suites.  Standard bedtime luxuries include goose-down quilts, feather pillows and crisp white linen.  The Loft Micro Spa offers a discreet area in which to be pampered and presents a menu of stress-beating therapies.
