Perched high above Ventnor Haven sits the Hambrough. Robert Thompson took over the helm as Chef Patron back in July 2008, since then the awards have been flowing in.
The Island Life Restaurant of the year was awarded back in November 2008, this was followed by 3 AA Rosettes in January 2009 and then in the same month with 1 Michelin Star.

Dining in the restaurant is a must, choose between lunch, a la carte or the tasting menu. Robert’s style of cuisine is un-complicated, flavours have to be clean and pronounced. Only the best ingredients have a place on the menu, local produce features strongly throughout.

05/12/2009 (1 night stay): Excellent hotel, great service, great food, room was superb. Overall totally fautless! If you were looking for a hotel on the island you will probably not find a better one.

13/02/2010 (2 night stay): I've stayed in a lot of places, but this was a real treat. Great room (with an unexpected sea view), lovely bathroom (great toiletries) and capped with a fantastic breakfast (pastries, full cooked, fresh juice, good coffee and wonderful service). A real Laterooms bargain!
