The Old Parsonage dates from 1659 – the date is carved above the original heavy oak front door. It is located a short walk away from the city centre and provides a haven of tranquillity after shopping or sightseeing. The ground floor has year round open log fires, Russian red walls and an eclectic art and furniture collection. The 30 contemporarily furnished bedrooms are grouped around a herb and lavender planted roof garden and have a stylish, country house feel. Each room is air conditioned, with hand made beds, en suite marble bathrooms, flat screen TVs and WIFI. Some of the ground floor rooms overlook the church garden where meals can be served. In summer there is a barbecue every Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the front terrace, with live jazz on Friday evenings year round, either outside or in.
