The Mill was built in 1770 on the site of an earlier flour mill listed in the Domesday Book of 1086. Built of Cotswold stone, it is typical of the beautiful archetectural style that distinguishes the Cotswolds. Set in ten acres of lawned gardens, the Mill has its own trout stream, and is an excellent base for visiting the much loved surrounding villages. Kingham itself was voted England's Favourite Village by Country Life Magazine in 2007. The luxury en-suite bedrooms have far-reaching views over the countryside and all have WIFI, satellite TV and comprehensive local guides. Head Chef Matthew Dare serves modern British food based on fresh local produce in season, fish delivered overnight from Looe Day Boat fish market, vegetables from the Vale of Evesham and Cotswold raised lamb and beef. The wine list has a good blend of New and Old World wines with a wide range of half bottles and wines by the glass. Lighter meals can be taken in the Mill Stream Bar or on the Terrace overlooking the trout stream. The Mill has special deals for breaks of two nights or more, with Christmas and New Year celebrated in style, many guests returning year after year.
