The North Norfolk coast’s sand dunes and salt marshes are home to rare birds, seals and weekend sailors and are all readily accessible from our Norfolk hotels. Holkham Hall, Sandringham (one of the Queen’s residences), Blicking Hall and Felbrigg Hall should not be missed.
Norwich, East Anglia’s flourishing capital has one of Britain’s oldest cathedrals, started in 1094; also 30 medieval churches and Norwich Castle military museum. Today it is a great shopping and cultural centre. To the East are the Norfolk Broads, acres of waterways left behind by medieval peat diggers and now home to boating enthusiasts.
Thetford, in south-west Norfolk, in an area known as Breckland, was the ancient Danish capital of East Anglia and still has the ruins of a 12th century priory, Iron Age earthworks and a Norman castle mound. Thetford Forest is England’s second biggest.
All of our Norfolk hotels provide the exceptional standards of luxury expected from a Signpost premier hotel. |
