Cornwall and Devon are the most visited counties in England, particularly for family holidays. The Scilly Isles have a number of good hotels, notably the contemporary Hell Bay on the island of Bryher and the traditional colonial style Island Hotel on Tresco. Both are closed November to March.

The most westerly Hotel in Cornwall is the Lands End Hotel, with free entry into the Lands End Visitor Centre. Near Lands End, the Penzance Hotel, one of the most contemporary Hotels in Cornwall has been refurbished within its Edwardian exterior. Near Penzance at Marazion is the 18-bedroom Mount Haven Hotel & Restaurant, one of the most spectacularly set Hotels in Cornwall with views of St Michael’s Mount.
Also near Penzance the small Old Coastguard Hotel enjoys superb views across Mounts Bay. Mawnan Smith boasts two well known family owned hotels The Meudon, set in nine acres of gardens leading to a private beach, and The Budock Vean, set in 65-acre grounds on the Helford River estuary, a leading Golfing Hotel in Cornwall with its own 9-hole golf course. Penventon Park Hotel, near Redruth, has spa, indoor pool and gymnasium.
