Bibury Court
This gracious mansion, now under new management, dating back to the 16th century has preserved its charm in a peaceful setting of six acres of garden, bordered by the river Coln. Bibury Court has 19 traditional but individual bedrooms, furnished to a high standard. Downstairs there is an oak panelled lounge, a conservatory for light meals and breakfast and a newly refurbished dining room.
Here AA cuisine is under the supervision of chef Nigel Godwin. The restaurant was a finalist in Cotswold Life Restaurant of the Year in 2010. The emphasis is on the finest seasonal produce. The village of Bibury was described by William Morris as 'the most beautiful village in England'. It is noted for its trout farm and much-photographed row of Cotswold cottages.
There are walks along the river to the village of Coln St Aldwyn. The historic town of Cirencester is nearby and fashionable Cheltenham is just 30 minutes away. This is the heart of the Cotswolds and the perfect spot for a relaxing break, where good food and a warm welcome is assured.
