Biggin Hall

Biggin Hall is an historic manor house of 17th century origin, situated 1000 ft above sea level in the Peak District National Park. The Hall is Grade II listed and stands in its own grounds of some eight acres. There are eight bedrooms furnished with antiques in the main house (inc. one suite) and a further twelve studio apartments in a bothy and barn in the grounds.

Dinner is a daily changing menu of traditional home cooking with the emphasis on local ingredients and free range wholefoods. Guests are made to feel at home in this exceptionally welcoming, comfortable house. A superb centre for walking or touring in Derbyshire, with many historic houses within a 20 mile radius.

Pets welcome in the bothy/annex only.

Hotel reviews

June 2011 : We have stayed at Biggin Hall several times, each time in a different room. The Bridal Suite (Room 1) in the main house with huge bathroom is the best, the rooms in the bothy are satisfactory; some of the others in the main house and in the Lodge are like slightly tired rooms in an aunt’s private house. Not for us dinner at 7pm, but others seemed happy with that. Self-service breakfast seems to work and the two hosts James and Stephen are genial and welcoming. The hotel is set in great walking and biking country

July 2011 : A very nice place with large rooms. Not very good phone signal but free WIFI and I suppose you go there to get away from ‘phones! I liked the rooms, service and location.

June 2011 : Absolutely brilliant. We have been going to Biggin Hall every year since 1996 and we were attracted initially because it takes well behaved dogs…. so welcoming and relaxing. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff and the food is excellent. It also has such character which is missing from so many establishments these days.
