The Chase Hotel
The Chase Hotel is a stately mansion set in 11 acres of parkland on the outskirts of Ross-on-Wye. It has recently been extended and modernised to provide a smart 36-room country hotel.
Bedrooms now have voicemail telephones, modem points, WIFI Internet access as well as the usual amenities. Executive and four-poster rooms enjoy the extra comfort of a feature or jacuzzi bathroom. Harry's AA rosette Restaurant is contemporarily furnished and serves a fusion of traditional British classic dishes with European/Mediterranean cuisine.
A typical starter might be smoked pigeon and wild mushroom terrine with fig chutney, followed maybe by venison loin with vanilla glaze, poached pears and garlic roasted sweet potato hash. Traditional Sunday lunch and an excellent selection of bar snacks are also available. Weddings, conferences and special events can be organised.
The hotel can also arrange hot air balloon flights, canoe trips down the river Wye and team building activities. Good walks start from the hotel, through picturesque Ross and along the river towpaths. It is well placed for exploring Welsh border country and historic castles and gardens in the area.

Hotel reviews
June 2011 : Room nothing special, but perfectly comfortable and quiet. Dinner well presented, with a good choice of fresh dishes and dining room very full when I was there, but service unimpaired. Good walks from the hotel through the old town and down by the river Wye.

October 2011 : Ideal location in beautiful parkland, right on the edge of Ross in easy walking distance, yet in the heart of the countryside. Friendly and welcoming, clean and homely. An excellent base for work or pleasure.
