Lastingham Grange Hotel
Unique and incomparable was how one guest described this super hotel to me whilst on one of her numerious return stays. And it is easy to see why guests return time and again to this charming hotel situated on the edge of the Moors in the historic village of Lastingham, a peaceful backwater in the heart of the North York Moors National Park.
The old, stone-walled country house, built around a courtyard and set within 10 acres of attractive gardens, is owned and personally run by the Wood family. Their charming friendliness and hospitality sets the mood for all guests to feel at ease in this elegant and tasteful country home.
The atmosphere is unhurried and peaceful, the south facing terrace providing a tranquil setting in which to relax and enjoy the beautiful rose garden. The welcoming hall, the spacious lounge with its open fire, the comfortable bedrooms with their impressive views, the excellent food, the attention to detail and the location make the Grange a perfect spot for a restful break.

November 2011 : If you want something special then I can't recommend the Lastingham Grange high enough. The service you receive from arrival to departure is exceptional. Jane, Bertie, Tom and staff make every guest feel welcome and special. The Sunday Lunch was absolutely beautiful and plentiful.
July 2011 : Returning to Lastingham Grange after my first visit here some 15 years ago was like stepping into a time machine – very little had changed apart from the proprietor who is now the son of the couple who ran the hotel when I was last there. Staying at Lastingham Grange is like being welcomed in to a well-established country house...
October 2010 : Lastingham Grange is a flawless gem hidden in the North York Moors national park. The hotel is small and very comfortable, with incredible attention to detail. We like it for its excellent service and food, and because it is a haven from large, busy, impersonal and soulless hotels. The resident owners are experts at making you feel welcome.
