Whitley Hall Hotel
Entering Whitley Hall is rather like putting on a comfortable pair of slippers and stepping back in time. This beautiful manor house of 16th century origins, steeped in history, is set in 20 acres with peacocks gracing the lawns and ducks gliding across the two lakes.
The hotel caters for weddings, conferences and events. The restaurant situated in the oldest part of the hotel is open to non-residents and serves a varied and interesting menu, with ingredients sourced from local suppliers where possible. Innovative cooking, friendly but unobtrusive staff and constantly changing menus all illustrate why Whitely Hall is known as one of Yorkshire's 'best kept secrets'. Dine al fresco in the summer months or relax in front of an open log fire in winter.
All the bedrooms have been recently refurbished, each one individually designed and some with juliette balconies overlooking the bottom lake (book early to secure these favourite rooms!) A good spot for a romantic break or as a base for visiting Sheffield.

Hotel reviews
December 2011 : I stayed at Whitley Hall in December 2011 whilst on business in Sheffield and it was very nice indeed. The hotel was a traditional in appearance and combined olde worlde quirkiness with modernity. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious and stylishly decorated with high quality furnishings and fittings and the bed was sooo comfy!.
December 2011 : My parents treated my husband and I to a night at the Whitley hall hotel for our first anniversary. The room was very nice and clean and it was a nice touch having a complimentary bottle of wine and decanter of port in the room. The food was very nice and the lounge a very relaxing and comfortable place to spend the evening.
November 2011 : I stayed here recently whilst sitting a professional examination over two days in Sheffield so it was really important for me to have a quiet room and a good night's sleep. The room was extremely quiet and luxuriously furnished. A fast broadband connection was available and I was also able to pick up the hotel's wireless network from my room, despite being in the furthest room from the reception. The staff were extremely helpful and the food was excellent. My stay could not have been better. I hope I can visit again under more relaxing circumstances!
