Sanctum on the Green
Located in the heart of Royal Berkshire, yet only 45 minutes from the capital, the Sanctum on the Green provides a glamorous country retreat for those wanting a comfortable break. Its nine deluxe rooms are divided into 'crash pads', deluxe rooms and the Sanctum Suite with a 6ft bathtub and a cascading rainforest shower.
All are equipped with state-of-the-art entertainment systems, WIFI, film libraries, king size beds and REN toiletries. There is a treatment room, outdoor hot tub and pool. The walls inside are hung with the striking work of local artist Andrew Hewkin, inspired by his world travels.
The S Day Restaurant is under the supervision of acclaimed chef John Burton-Race (ex L'Ortolan, Le Manoir and The Landmark, London). Highlights include aged Hereford rib of beef with bone marrow sauce and hand cut chips and Dorset crab cakes. All in all, a culinary and re-invigorating experience to savour.
The Sanctum on the Green's town cousin is the Sanctum Soho London.

December 2011 : We stayed in one of the Deluxe Double rooms which was very well appointed. Breakfast was excellent; the full English was cooked to order and perfectly finished. All told our stay was very enjoyable and I would definitely stay again.
December 2011 : We chose this restaurant for our wedding anniversary evening meal. We were very pleasantly surprised by the decor and the menu was inviting and reasonably priced. Our food was delicious. Lovely setting, good crowd of people for a Saturday evening, no complaints at all.
December 2011 : One of the main attractions is the bar, a really pleasant place to spend an hour or so before dinner. The rooms are good too - this time round we had a spacious four-poster, with a nice bathroom including a huge walk-in shower with a choice of coloured lighting.
