Peat Spade Inn
The Peat Spade lies just two miles from Stockbridge, in the beautiful Test Valley, often called the Fly Fishing Capital of the World. It has recently been restored to provide superior accommodation for both fly fisherman, game shot and leisure guest wanting a break in a beautiful part of the world.
The cities of Salisbury and Winchester are nearby as well as the Wallop villages, with their Museum of Flying and Cricket Bat making workshop. Walking into the Peat is like being a guest at a country manor, with tales of the highest pheasant or the biggest trout winging their way around the bar! The seven comfortable bedrooms are situated either in the main house or in the old peat house adjoining.
All have sumptuous beds with big pillows and duvets, flat screen TVs with DVD players, WIFI, and power showers. There is also a Residents' Lounge. The Inn can arrange fly fishing, game and clay shooting and there is a drying room and safe. Cuisine is hearty, specialising in local game and fish to produce a Classic English menu which changes with the seasons.
The Inn is part of Millers Collection with sister hostelries at Lower Froyle (Hampshire) and East Garston (Berkshire).

Hotel reviews
June 2007 : My husband and I stayed at The Peat Spade Inn for a weekend this past March and had a lovely stay. The restaurant is obviously a favorite of locals and there is a nice buzz in it. Our room had a modern, clean design.
January 2007 : stayed at the peat spade in December last year, found the inn by mistake, so it was a lovely surprise to find such a gem in the Hampshire countryside, all rooms beautifully done and great value for money,
