The Swan Inn
The Swan lies beside the Windrush brook in a particularly unspoiled part of the Cotswolds – just two miles each from Burford and the A40. Beside it is a perfect village cricket pitch. This year the Inn has opened six sumptuous bedrooms in an adjoining Cotswold stone barn. These range from Debo’s Room, the Duchess Suite (The Dowager Duchess of Devonshire being the owner of the Swan), which sleeps 2 adults and 2 children, to the ground floor Stable I and Stable 2 and the Orchard Store. Décor is traditional, old stone and woodwork, blended with modern facilities, flat screen TVs, Internet access points, comfy beds and every modern convenience.
The Swan has long had a reputation for good food and is busy at lunchtime and in the evening. Eating areas are spread across several rooms, including a modern conservatory and tables in the pretty garden. The award winning fayre includes tasty snacks and fresh fish through to steaks for the hungry, with hand cut chips and fresh vegetables. There are always blackboard ‘specials’ on offer.
This is the perfect spot for a getaway break.

Hotel reviews
November 2011 : We've just returned from another outstanding Sunday lunch at The Swan, which has got to be my favourite Cotswold pub (and there is some stiff competition!). In a picturebook setting next to the River Windrush, it can't be beat for atmosphere…
December 2011 : We asked locals we passed on the street where to eat and they steered us pass other options to this pub and restaurant. The food was exceptional.
