The Old Swan & Minster Mill
The Old Swan & Minster Mill have recently been acquired and refurbished in excellent taste by the de Savary family. The Old Swan is 600 years old and has 16 magical suites and guest rooms. The dining room and bar area, with roaring log fire, are cosy and welcoming, the cuisine excellent.
The Minster Mill, across the road, has a further 46 bedrooms, divided into 'cosy' and 'special'. Most of the special rooms have river frontage and are dog-friendly. Even the 'cosy' standard rooms are beautifully furnished, with modern bathrooms and White Company toiletries.
There is also a small spa at The Mill as well as meeting and break-out rooms. Plans are afoot to expand the Spa and add a swimming pool, sauna & steam room. Also to add a new Great Hall, a magnificent vaulted barn which will accommodate up to 150 guests.
The hotel borders the river Windrush and is set in 65 acres of garden, wildflower meadow and woodland. An excellent feature is the provision of booklets on where to walk and what to see in this corner of The Cotswolds.
Oxford is 16 miles away, Burford and Stow-on-the-Wold near at hand. This is a beautful quintessentially English spot in which to relax and get away from it all.

November 2010 : Quintessentially England. An old pub turned into a restaurant coupled with an old mill on a river, what more could one ask for. This was a special occasion and my request for champers to be left in the room for arrival was easily accommodated.

July 2010 : Superb location with Cotswold charm and warm hospitality. Superb hotel, old converted mill brought up to date with tasteful contemporary styling. Staff very pleasant, polite and helpful. Rooms spotlessly clean and with superb views over the river.
