Powder Mills Hotel
The Powder Mills Hotel is situated in 150 acres of beautiful parklands, woods and lakes. Built in 1792, the hotel is situated close to the historic town of Battle and adjoins the famous battlefield of 1066. Privately owned, the Powder Mills has been skilfully converted into a fascinating country house hotel.
There is a range of 41 individually decorated en suite bedrooms and junior suites in keeping with the style of the house, many with four poster beds. The Orangery Restaurant has an AA Rosette.
The hotel is ideally located for exploring Kent and Sussex with the Channel tunnel just one hour's drive away. There are wonderful gardens, old towns and castles to visit nearby such as Bodiam Castle, Sissinghurst and Bateman's and numerous antique shops in the neighbouring villages.

Hotel reviews
12/09/2009 (12 night stay): The place was dirty, the service poor, our bags were put into the wrong room (and had to be retrievedat midnight when we got back after a wedding reception), the room was noisy (just above the kitchen (which started its high volume activities at 6am on Sunday morning) and breakfast wasa shambles (no individual table was available, the buffet food tired and they ran out of beans). Frankly we had a lousy experience - a pity because the location is nice.

02/08/2009 (2 night stay): We stayed for one night with two friends and two dogs. The room was beautiful, the food excellent and the surroundings spectacularly peaceful. A perfect, relaxed place to stay with dogs.

September 2011 : A beautifully appointed Hotel in a spectacular setting. My husband and I loved Powdermills Hotel and from the moment we swept down the drive past the mini lake and ducks we knew this was a special place.
