Flackley Ash Hotel
This is one of Sussex' most charming country house hotels. It has an indoor swimming pool and leisure complex, with hydro pool, gym, steam room, saunas, aromatherapy, beauticians and games lawn.
The Georgian house radiates a warm and friendly atmosphere, with individually decorated bedrooms. Dining by candlelight in the conservatory or overlooking the hotel's gardens, the restaurant boasts daily changing menus using the finest local produce. Owners, the Betteridge family, ensure a quality stay for business and leisure guest alike. Rye is only a few miles away with its many historical buildings including the 15th century church, the Ypres Tower, the famous Landgate and Henry James' Georgian residence, Lamb House.
There is plenty to do in the area, with antique shops, potteries, local crafts and boutiques and a Thursday market. The fellow Cinque Port, Winchelsea, is nearby, as is Camber Sands, with its beautiful beach and safe bathing. In addition there are famous castles, abbeys and gardens to visit.

Hotel reviews
12/02/2010 (2 night stay): Having never been to a spa hotel before, we had nothing to compare Flackley Ash with. However, we found our stay really enjoyable and came away feeling totally relaxed. The hotel is relatively small and as a result the spa never seemed busy.

05/11/2009 (2 night stay): My husband and I spent two nights at the Flackley Ash Hotel and enjoyed the welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. The leisure facilities were excellent, particularly the pool. We also enjoyed a leisurely meal in the restaurant with comfortable surroundings and excellent service.
