Bryn Eglwys Country House Hotel
There can be few hotels with a more superb situation than Bryn Eglwys, facing the broad expanse of the River Glaslyn valley and surrounded by the mountains of the Snowdonia National Park. Originally a Georgian farmhouse, it has been variously extended to become an eminently comfortable country house style hotel run with great charm by the owners Kevin and Lyn Lambert. Guests may come for many differing reasons which bring them back regularly to the peace and relaxation of Bryn Eglwys.
All the bedrooms have scenic views and are elegantly and prettily furnished, each with a different colour scheme. This year all bathrooms were refurbished and flat screen TVs installed in rooms.
There is a very comfortable lounge with deep armchairs and sofas in which one could well spend time with a good book with a trip now and again for refreshment in the intimate bar.
The restaurant, where the daily changing locally sourced menu is in Lyn’s capable hands, is one of the newer extensions having windows on three sides and is large enough to ensure privacy to all tables.
Only five minutes from the centre of the award winning village of Beddgelert, a great walking and mountaineering centre, it is also the hub for visiting many surrounding places - Portmeirion Village, Harlech, Snowdon itself, Caernarfon or a longer trip to Llandudno.
You are welcome to bring your pet to the hotel, for a fee of £5.

April 2009 : Beautiful location, friendly staff, nothing too much trouble, well appointed rooms, everything spotlessly clean, food perfect.

November 2011 : We had three wonderful days at this exceptional hotel which requires recognition. Host Kevin was a do-anything person around the hotel throughout our stay. Much appreciated.
