Barnsdale Lodge Hotel
Overlooking Rutland Water and the undulating hills of England's smallest county, this former 17th century farmhouse, adjacent to the estate of the Earl of Gainsborough, is an idyllic retreat for anyone wishing to escape.
Lovingly restored Barnsdale Lodge is located to the north of the market town of Oakham, with its market square and specialist boutiques and shops. (Market days are on Wednesday and Saturday).
En suite bedrooms offer complete relaxation; 2 specially designed for disabled guests and many offer panoramic views south over Rutland Water. Dining is in one of three dining rooms, the conservatory or, weather permitting, in the courtyard garden. There is now a Meadow Walk (for dogs).
Conferences and product launches, wedding receptions and private parties are catered for and take place in the separate Banqueting Suite.
Viciente at Barnsdale, the hotel's beauty therapy room, offers the ultimate in relaxation and pampering.
There are a wealth of activities on and around Rutland Water including sailing, windsurfing or cycling around its perimeter. Geoff Hamilton’s Barnsdale Gardens, Belton House (NT) are close by and the market towns of Uppingham and Stamford; market day on Friday.
