Caer Beris Manor
Caer Beris was until recently the home of Lord Swansea, although there has been a manor on the site since 1093. It is built in a loop of the river Irfon and sits in 27 acres of garden and parkland. Peter and Katherine Smith bought the hotel in 1988 and continue to upgrade and improve the accommodation every year. It provides a perfect escape from the modern world.
Each bedroom, including four four-posters and two ground floor, is individually decorated and has its own style.
The award winning oak panelled restaurant makes best use of local produce.
There are also meeting rooms and an open air bar terrace.
The wine list stretches to 150 bins and there is an extensive malt and whisky collection. There are four miles of fishing on the river Wye nearby as well as directly on the river Irfon.
Golf is next door and birdwatching, walking and riding are all available nearby.

Hotel reviews
September 2011 : Absolutely fantastic. Although I was there on business, I felt I had been on holiday because of the beautiful gardens, the river and the wonderful staff.

June 2011 : Thank you for welcoming us to your wonderful family-friendly hotel. We were a couple with a 14-month old baby, and although we only booked for one night, we were made to feel very welcome, with a huge room, comfortable beds and a tasty breakfast before we left.

July 2011 : This is a charming hotel with a lot of character set in tranquil grounds which run down to the river – a great setting. Warm and friendly welcome, all staff were very helpful, the room was large and comfortable, ‘though the décor might not appeal to everyone.
