Gliffaes Country House Hotel
The clockfaces on the four sides of the Gliffaes' tower show four different times. No, not the hour in Tokyo, London, New York and Sydney, but a symbol of the 'timelessness' of the hotel. Whether you're fishing for a hotel or looking for a hotel that's got some of the best fishing in the UK - Gliffaes has it all. There are stunning walks through the 33 acres of grounds around the hotel and the Brecon Beacons National Park, on the doorstep, offer most outdoor activities.
On a fine summer's day, the Italianate terrace will be full of satisfied locals taking afternoon tea, 'a trencherman's dream', with plenty of home made cakes!
Bedrooms are priced according to size and views. The four largest ones overlooking the river have been refurbished to the highest standard. Gliffaes is a family-run hotel - Susie and James Suter being the third generation.
A daily changing menu with good food locally sourced, complemented by a world-wide wine list, a warm fire and a comfortable bed at the end of the day spent outdoors on the hills - what more could one ask for? Unsurprisingly most people come back for more.
Pets are welcome, there is a fee of £10.00 per night.

14/08/2009 (5 night stay): We were absolutely delighted by Gliffaes with its near perfect service in a beautiful setting. From breakfast through to dinner the food was exceptional. The ambience is quiet and understated. There was no fuss, just a quiet efficiency and thoughtful service second to nowhere. They got the details absolutely right. We were rather impressed.

18/12/2009 (3 night stay): Excellent location and attractive hotel in one of the most beautiful areas of Britain. Log fires in lounge area made a relaxing afternoon on a cold and wet day. We certainly will make a return trip.
