Lake Isle Hotel & Restaurant

The Lake Isle is in the centre of the friendly market town of Uppingham, with easy parking, interior design, antique and bookshops to browse in.

Bedrooms have William Morris or Sanderson wallpaper, antiques and pretty fabrics. Seven have king-size beds and whirlpool baths. On two floors, the rooms are named after French wine growing regions: Dom Perignon, Champagne, Bordeaux and so on.

Over the courtyard are two cottage suites with bedrooms upstairs and sitting rooms downstairs. On the first floor there is a comfortable lounge and private dining room for up to 16 people - ideal for smaller, intimate weddings or business meetings. The AA rosette restaurant uses local game and produce wherever possible.

There is plenty to do and see in the area, including Rockingham Castle, Rutland Water, Burghley House, Tolethorpe House and Barnsdale Gardens.

Lake Isle Hotel & Restaurant offers conference facilities for up to sixteen delegates.

Hotel reviews

August 2011 : This restaurant with rooms has long been a favourite of ours for several years, when making our annual trip to the Birdfair in Rutland. The food has always been of the highest quality, with the fish starters and the main courses being particularly good. The spacious restaurant has attractive décor with a distinctly alcoholic thee, which is appropriate for the good wine on offer.

August 2011 : My husband and I stayed one Saturday night at the Lake Isle on a dinner, bed & breakfast package which was excellent value for money. The lovely food and excellent wine list more than compensated for the slightly shabby bedroom.
