Selkirk Arms Hotel
The Best Western Selkirk Arms Hotel
A unique blend of traditional hospitality, fine food, Scottish history and local art, this privately owned and managed townhouse hotel lies in the heart of the harbour town of Kirkcudbright, a favourite amongst artists and poets. The gentle pace and peaceful atmosphere perhaps moved Scotland's National poet Robert Burns to write the famous Selkirk Grace at this very hotel in 1794.
The bedrooms and suites with contemporary furnishings are individually decorated to the highest standard, where you will want for nothing and will find all the essential home comforts.
The lounge and Bistro are light and cosy, with a mix of comfy sofas, dining tables and an open fire. There is a selection of fine beers, malt whiskies, local hand pulled ales and an impressive wine list. The restaurant and bistro serve a selection of dishes from a variety of styles and offer a real choice of dining to suite every occasion from local seafood to a hearty Galloway steak. Seasonal ingredients are used wherever possible. The Artistas Restaurant offers a more formal dining experience with crisp linen, unobtrusive friendly service and excellent food. A warm welcome awaits all who visit the Selkirk Arms.

Hotel reviews
November 2011 : We arrived in the middle of a downpour and were immediately welcomed and shown to a lovely(and warm) bedroom and then had an excellent meal with plenty of choice.
November 2011 : We visit twice a year as we love the area but equally look forward to our visits to the Selkirk Arms. Great food and beer, a lovely homely atmosphere and friendly, welcoming staff who would do any hotel proud. Breakfast is the best I have ever had anywhere, the Selkirk cooked breakfast requires a hearty appetite indeed! If it sounds as if we love this hotel and the staff it's because we do, they always make us feel special.
November 2011 : I and my 86 year old mother stayed in October 2011. This hotel is as good as it gets and is one of the top ones i have stayed in worldwide. Hotel appointment is excellent and the staff friendly and diligent in looking after guests needs. I strongly recommend this hotel to you all. We enjoyed it so much that we have booked three nights between Xmas and New Year thereby showing our approval of this hotel
