Atholl Palace Hotel
The Atholl Palace, a stunning Victorian hotel, towers above Pitlochry, the tourist capital of the Highlands, with beautiful views on all sides. It started life as a Hydropathic Establishment whose history is chronicled in its own museum.
Refurbished bedrooms range from singles through family suites and four posters to Turret rooms (ideal for honeymooners) and Highland Lodges in the grounds, cottages and self-catering apartments. Close by there are endless things to do and see. Sports include golf, tennis, fishing, walking, mountain biking, pony trekking, kayaking and pitch n' putt.
Other local attractions include the amazing 'salmon ladder', historic Blair Castle (with the only private army in the British Isles), the House of Bruar - the 'Harrods of the North' - the shops of Pitlochry and the renowned Festival Theatre.
In the evening return to the hotel to enjoy a drink in the bar, and dine in the Verandah Restaurant with its growing reputation for quality food making best use of game and fish specialities from the abundant Highland larder all around.

December 2011 : We have visited this hotel every year for the last ten years or so. We love the cosy welcoming atmosphere of this hotel. We have always found the rooms comfortable, the food good and the main dining room has a wonderful view of the majestic countryside. Anyone wanting to spoil themselves for a few days could do a lot worse than chose this hotel - you will be well looked after!
November 2011 : Had an amazing time in the Atholl palace, went there with 2 girlfriends in October and we truly had a relaxing and fabulous holiday. The hotel is as impressive on the inside as it is on the outside. The grounds are fab with a lovely waterfall and gardens. The food was exceptional, really great service. We indulged in some spa treatments which was really nice. All in all had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend the Atholl palace
November 2011 : Return visit having got married here in 2009. Lovely room, although quite warm for us. Had a great facial and then relaxed in the 'relaxation room', followed by a swim. Pool all to myself. We had two fantastic meals at night. I didn't leave the hotel all weekend! Staff great, very friendly. This hotel never fails to deliver for me and have had many stays here over the last few years.
