The Cottage in the Wood
High above the village of Malvern Wells, half hidden amongst hillside trees, you will find the Cottage in the Wood based in three buildings with, at the heart a former Georgian dower house, it is now a hotel of charm and character owned and run by John and Sue Pattin and family for 24 years, enjoying stunning 30 mile views.
There is a roaring log fire in winter and, in the summer months, the windows are thrown open onto the terrace and garden. The elegant dining room serves a menu essentially modern English in style, with a first class wine list completing a superb dining experience.
You can walk directly from the grounds onto the Malvern Hills. By car the area from the Welsh Marches to Shakespeare's Stratford is on the doorstep whilst all around is Elgar country.

Hotel reviews
December 2011 : Our first visit to the Cottage and the stunning views from high up in the Malvern Hills was matched only by the warmth of welcome on our arrival. We stayed in the main hotel (there are two annexes nearby) and we were immediately impressed by the interior décor and layout. Our en suite room was clean, warm and spacious.

December 2011 : My partner and I spent a wonderful night at the Cottage in the Wood. Fantastic customer service, great relaxed atmosphere and the food was out of this world! The venison was incredible! My partner is a chef and so is very particular about his food and he was blown away by it! Basically we could not fault anything about the hotel.

December 2011 : By far one of the nicest, most lavish and most beautiful places I have ever stayed… fantastic rooms, superior food, fantastic views and walks and service over and above the call of duty. Would definitely treat myself and partner to another break in the near future.
