Lyzzick Hall Country House Hotel
This stunning country house hotel is located on the lower slopes of Skiddaw, yet easily accessible from the A591 and only a short distance from Keswick town centre. Set in extensive private grounds with well kept gardens and panoramic views over the northern Lake District, it was formerly the home of a wealthy Lancashire 19th century textile merchant, taking its name from the ancient woodland area behind the building known as Lyzzick Wood.
It is now a family owned and run hotel of distinction with 30 luxury individually designed bedrooms, two comfortable lounges with log fires and a well stocked bar.
The restaurant serves excellent cuisine, featuring locally sourced seasonal food often with herbs from the hotel's own gardens. The menu has a mix of traditional English and Continental dishes all complimented by an extensive range of wines from around the world, some especially imported from Spain.
The hotel's own leisure facilities, available exclusively to residents, comprises a swimming pool, sauna and whirlpool spa bath.
The hotel is an ideal location to relax and enjoy the Lake District scenery, wonderful walks and hidden delights of the unspoiled, picturesque valley of the river Eden. This most beautiful corner of England has so much to offer.

Hotel reviews
09/11/2011 : I have added Lyzzick Hall to my list of hotels I must revisit, this hotel is special, The Spanish owner works as hard as his staff to ensure every requirement is satisfied. We stayed on a half board and would thoroughly recommend the food and the service that was delivered from the kitchen like a well oiled machine. We stayed in the Grisedale room and opened the curtains to a wonderful view and could then wander down the corridor in the bath robes provided to the swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna.
09/11/2011 : We were told about Lyzzick Hall by friends who have been several times and raved about it, so we decided to go and stay there for 2 nights to celebrate our anniversary. We were certainly not disappointed as this hotel lived up to all the excellent reviews. We would certainly go again and recommend it to our friends.
06/11/2011 : We stayed here for our Wedding Anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, with evening dinner a particular highlight. The hotel staff are extremely welcoming and friendly. We had a standard room which was compact, yet comfortable and clean. The evening dinner is a real gastronomic treat, with a good choice of locally sourced food, served in a modern way. The wine list is extensive, mostly Spanish and Portuguese, and was especially good. A lovely stay, and we intend to return!
